Peterson Portable Sawmills

Milling in the Pasture

WPF is designed for fast production sawmilling

Recently, while going through some of the photos on our server, we came across this image of Rosie Decker, seen here, hard at work milling a big Oak tree on her dad’s farm near York, England.

It’s a 200 acre farm, which farms cattle and arable land. They also have a small woodland on the farm which was planted 40 years ago, but it’s the older trees in their pasture fields, that have suffered storm damage, that they milled. On this day they milled three Oaks and an Ash tree.

Because of the difference in time zones between Europe and New Zealand, it is not always an easy task keeping in contact with everyone in Europe. Rosie is our European Business Development Manager, located in the UK who looks after our Peterson customers and agents in Europe and has worked for Petersons for many years. Not only does she look after our customers and agents in Europe, but she helps train new customers and agents, attends shows all over Europe and is an experienced Peterson sawmill operator.
