The Sande family's custom milling business, JS Sawmilling, is a family affair. Pictured are Jordin (3) and Jesse (5) , sitting on an impressive pile of kiln dried wood.

Located two hours north of Seattle, in Maple Falls, Washington USA, millers Jeff and Jacki Sande cut lumber for many uses; old growth cedar siding, cedar fencing, beams (sent as far as Texas), yellow cedar to construct canoes, and birch, fir, and maple for cabinets.

When Jeff is cutting and Jacki is tailing out and supervising the children, the younger kids (their older son Jake, 13, helps out occasionally) play hide and seek around the logs and lumber, being careful to stay out of the way.
