The Great Wisconsin Demo Day

On April 28th 2007, Chris Browne along with members of the Forestry Forum held a Demo Day in Wisconsin, USA. This wasn’t any ordinary Demo Day, they were going to be taking the ATS to its limits by cutting a 6′ 10″ dia 21.5′ long Old Growth Giant Redwood that was 1635 years old! With the ATS advertised to only cut logs up to 4′ dia, it really proved itself.

The boys milled over 5,000 board feet, getting some really nice slabs 3″ thick. Each slab was about 285 board feet which Chris said even impressed the Wood-Mizer owners who were at the Demo Day.

The people in the picture above from the top left are Beenthere, JeffB, Burlkraft, Wyatt, Gary_C, Stumpy, Pasbuild, Corley5, Raider, Husband and the IL Bull Brothers. Click here to read what the Forestry Forum has to say about the day and see videos and more pictures.
