Changes are afoot. It’s been a busy three months for the people at Peterson’s. Here we are in March, saying goodbye to two familiar faces, and welcoming a new Sales Consultant, Greg Sheehan.
Ezra, in Sales, has always been a lovable bike nut, so has understandably gone back to pursue his dream job : running a new bike workshop and coffee bar in partnership with a good friend who already has a cycle-touring business. If you choose to visit Rotorua for your sawmill training, we can put you in touch with Ezra to get the best coffee and top bike-trail recommendations.
Karen – our enthusiastic social media chick – is moving out of New Zealand temporarily for a family hiatus. For the next three months, she and her husband will be hiking Japan, walking and exploring its Nature Trails. Doesn’t that just make you envious?
We had many great applicants keen to replace Ezra as a Peterson Sales Consultant. Because team-fit is so important to us here at Peterson’s, Sales Manager Aaron Kalan and Marketing Manager Layla were both involved in reviewing the applications and interviews with me.
We chose Greg Sheehan to join Aaron in the Sales office. He’s been in Rotorua since the early 1990s, attracted here by the great outdoors, beautiful lakes and fantastic opportunities for trout fishing. He has been a banker, sporting-goods retailer and a specialised engineering client manager. Greg has worked most recently as a key contact – available 24/7 – for his engineering clients from 1999-2015, and has come out of retirement to work with our Peterson sawmill owners. His wife says it’s her turn to retire/ work part-time, so Greg will be exercising his well-honed relationship and mechanical skills at Peterson’s.
With Greg’s strong background in customer care, he is focused on building rapport with all our sawmill customers and enquirers. We look forward to benefiting from his fresh perspective. Learning about our mills and getting operator training has been Greg’s primary focus this month. But don’t be surprised if we let him on the phone and email soon – he’s a very quick learner! Changes like this are super exciting for the team here at Peterson’s, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact Greg will have.
Greg is looking forward to chatting with new and long-standing Peterson sawmill owners. Please give him a call at Peterson headquarters or send an email to the Sales Team.
Next step for me as CEO is to attract a new team member, someone with an Account Management background with a focus on serving our Agent-Distributors all around the world, while Aaron and Greg concentrate on supporting our Peterson Sawmill Owner community. It’s true what they say, Changes are the only constant in life!
