Peterson Sawmills Live In Australia!

Petersons is glad to announce their attendance of the annual Primex field days in NSW, Australia, from the 16th – 18th of May, as well as the hosting of two live demo days at commercial sawmilling sites the following week, on the 22nd and 25th.

This isn’t the first time Petersons has attended Primex – but it’s been over 15 years since the last visit back in 2008. Located in Casino, NSW, Primex is a family-owned brand that has been a part of the Australasian agricultural field days calendar since 1985.

Boasting an excess of 300 exhibitors, 25,000 visitors across the three-day event, and celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024, Primex is the place to be in New South Wales for brands like Petersons looking to showcase their products. Our sales manager Aaron Kalan will be present at Primex and both of our live demo days, to help demonstrate the live Petersons mills and aid in answering any questions or enquiries over the three events.

We hopped across the ditch last year to complete some ASM trainings with Peteron owners, but the last time we had Peterson mills displayed live in Australia was all the way back in 2019 at the Australian national field days.

The week following Primex sees Petersons host two separate demo days at commercial sawmilling sites in New South Wales. The first of which is in Armidale at Tom Kalinowski’s property, where his ASM will be live and running.

Tom is an avid supporter of Peterson’s having now owned four mills and is buzzing to answer any burning questions you may have, whether it be about the ASM, how a Petersons mill stacks up in a commercial operation like his, or any other queries you may have! This is an extremely rare opportunity to see a commercial sawmill operation live, so don’t miss out.

The second demo day will be on the 25th at David Bowmans property in Warwick, where his JP will be milling Iron Bark. Although it may be the smallest mill in the Peterson’s range, the JP is no slouch, which David will demonstrate as he effortlessly cuts through some of the toughest hardwood in Australia.

David’s JP is set up on his own custom tracks that he custom built to suit his property and milling operation – One of the many benefits of a Petersons mill that other sawmill competitors cannot offer. David is another die-hard Petersons owner who will be happy to answer any questions you have.

“We purchased our Peterson JP to mill timber on our property, with the goal of building cattle yards and sheds. The price of steel made the timber option very appealing. To date, the yard and shed building has taken a back seat with the demand for hardwood timber seeing all our production being sold locally. We are very happy with our JP, it performs well above expectations, especially in our hardwoods such as Iron Bark which are notoriously difficult to mill.”
