Sold out down south!

Factory manager Chris Browne has just returned from a two-week trip down south, in which he attended the Marlborough A&P Show in Blenheim, and the New Zealand Agricultural show in Christchurch.

Chris bought down an ASM and a JP all the way from the Peterson factory in Rotorua to showcase at the different shows. Blenheim was the first stop, for the one-day Marlborough A&P Show. The sites were set out beautifully, and Chris had a blast milling up some Macrocarpa and Douglas Fir into a range of boards with both mills. Petersons hasn’t done any shows or demos in Marlborough for a long time, so it was awesome to see such a positive response to our latest milling innovations.

The New Zealand Agricultural show in Christchurch was next, and across the three days Chris gave live demos of both mills, as well as answering questions and queries received from spectators.

An 1100mm, 130-year-old Old Man Pine was milled up into 2×6 boards on the JP, without it needing to be raised on any blocks. However, the ASM once again stole the show, rapidly milling up some Standard Pine into 4×2’s and 6×1’s. Chris received a landslide of positive feedback regarding the live demos, with many onlookers commenting on just how efficient and effortless it was compared to their own mills from other brands.

In his time away from the show, Chris was visiting local mill owners, offering his advice and assistance. This level of after sales care is truly what sets Petersons apart from the rest, as they continue to provide in depth assistance to all mill owners, sometimes even twenty years after their purchase!

After all was said and done, Chris left the Christchurch show empty handed – Both mills had been sold, and the trailer was empty. This is a true testament to just how impressive Peterson mills are when you witness them in person.

Next up, the Kumeu Show and Northland field days in 2025, and we can’t wait!
