Product Description

The Peterson ATS (All Terrain Sawmill) is designed for operation in remote locations and rough terrain, making it the best portable sawmill available for transporatation in and out of secluded milling sites. It meets our customers demands for a lightweight, highly portable, durable and rust-resistant sawmill that can handle the tough conditions.

Its uncomplicated design ensures that breakdowns and repairs are rare. The ATS uses a raised track system, allowing the mill to be assembled on nearly any terrain type. Left and right tracks are raised and lowered with both winches at the operator’s end for ease of use. Additional crank handles allow you to adjust to log taper easily, meaning more efficient cutting and greater recovery from your log. An ATS makes milling valuable wood in hard-to-reach areas easy and profitable with its distinguished recovery rate.

The ATS is Manufactured using high quality, hand polished stainless steel and aluminum, providing a virtually rust free sawmill. Using stronger, lighter materials also means the mills are robust in performance, and most importantly – have long-term durability in even the harshest conditions. This provides a huge amount of extra utility, as the mill can be easilly transported into, set up, and left in even the most remote areas.

Side by Side Sizing

Both vertical sizing winches on the ATS are at the operator’s end to minimise walking time, unlike imitation models by other companies who position the winches at each end.

Big Logs, No Probs

Two of the great strengths of a Peterson Sawmill are the portability and huge variety of cuts possible. The ATS takes both of these to the extreme – it can be packed into nearly anywhere, and the raised track system allows you to set-up on nearly any terrain. This track and frame system allows for oversized logs, or logs that have a diameter up to 6’ (1.8m).

Complete the Package

By adding a Peterson Clip On Chainsaw Slabber, you can produce high value slabs with the same machine that can mill dimensional timber, in the middle of the forest.

Accurate, Safe Sizing

All Peterson Portable Sawmills left/right sizing system is run by chain and sprocket, with a turning handle and lock. So that means it will only move when you unlock it, and you can position the sizing very accurately to within 1mm. No slippage, and top accuracy for every board.

Durable, Low Maintenance Blades

Our Peterson Blades last for 2-6 years with normal use and maintenance. However, some swing blade sawmill owners have been using the same blades for over 10 years! To decrease downtime, the Peterson blade can be sharpened while it is still on the mill; in less than 10 minutes, and without having to remove any guards.

Elevated Engines with Cyclonic Air Filters

We mount our sawmill engines higher than other manufacturers to ensure the air filter intake is further away from the sawdust output, helping prevent sawdust build up and overheating of the motor. Specifying Cyclonic Air Filters to separate clean air from debris and liquids also helps to improve the lifespan of your engine, with the added bonus that these filters last up to three times longer than standard duty filters.

Built to Last

All Peterson Sawmills are manufactured in our Rotorua, New Zealand factory and come standard with a 24-month return-to-factory warranty on the frame which includes all bed framing, track and carriage material manufactured by Petersons Global Sales Limited. We also offer an extended five-year frame warranty. This option can be included at time of purchase.
