Why Choose Peterson
The Best Range of Portable Swing Blade Sawmills on the Market
What sets us apart from the rest
The Versatility of a Peterson Portable Sawmill
Peterson Portable Sawmills are simply the most versatile portable sawmills on the market today. With a Peterson, you can take on any type of milling project with ease. Capable of handling a wide specification of log sizes, densities, and qualities, from Australian Hardwoods to fibrous South Pacific Coconut Palms. A Peterson Portable Sawmill is easy to set up around logs on the ground, transport to the logs on the back of a pick-up/ute or trailer for contract milling, or setup at a permanent site. Handle any size logs and produce a full range of timber products such as dimensional lumber, weatherboards, and slabs. As well as the ability to plane and sand, all with one machine. And this is all without the hassle of turning logs or saw heads, double-handling boards, or spending hours on blade sharpening. Here are a few key benefits of operating a Peterson:
Small Logs
Mill multiple small logs at a time on one set of skids to increase productivity. Increase recovery with the MicroKerf blade kit.
Large Logs
Mill very large logs with ease, up to 1.8m/6ft in diameter with some models, or larger with a Giant Frame upgrade.
Long Logs
Most production models accommodate unlimited extensions, with no compromise to safety, accuracy or production.
One or Two Person Milling
Mill as a single operator or part of a team simply by choosing to start with either the horizontal or vertical cut.
Double Sawing Area
Minimise log-loading downtime by setting up sawing areas on both ends of the mill, with extended tracks.
Double Cutting
Cut a board twice the width of the standard blade depth by double cutting without needing a slabber attachment.
Wide Boards/Slabs
A clip-on slabber allows you to cut slabs up to 1.5m (5’) wide without the need for additional equipment.
Tapered Boards
The tapered/weatherboard board attachment allows you to cut angled boards, ideal for cladding.
Planed Boards
The Planer Blade and Sanding Disc Kit will dress and finish your timber to a high standard.
We don't oversell
A letter from our Owner
Peterson Portable Sawmills design and manufacture the best range of portable swing blade sawmills on the market today and stand behind our products 100%.
Our customers tend to be those who have done their research. They’ve read information from different manufacturers, they’ve watched videos online, seen photos, read articles, talked to other buyers, compared results and even visited mill owners. Their sawmill is an investment and business, as well as a lifestyle choice. It’s important to them to get the right machine, once. And they don’t suffer hot-air sales pitches.
That’s why, when they’re ready to purchase, they’ll call us. Because they know by now that Peterson doesn’t oversell. We’re totally honest, we send you to an owner for the ‘real’ feedback. We don’t speed up operating videos, and we don’t boost unrealistic cutting speeds.
We’ve got the superior product that’s as efficient as it is robust, and after-sales assistance that’s more of a friendship than a service.
